About Us
RBJ is a small, family business started 40 years ago, when Robert made a wrist brace for a friend with an injured wrist. Two weeks later a BYU gymnast came to him with sore wrists and Robert made him the first Lion Paw. The gymnast took it back to his coach, who requested a pair for each of the team members. The Lion Paw prototype was then shown to U.S. Olympic trainer Jack Rockwell, who loved it too and started showing them around and that is how our business was started.
For all these years we have sold them by word of mouth and the Lion Paw is its own best advertisement. we have been pleased with our sales and the many friends we have made. It has also been a great opportunity for us to be able to give our daughter work she could do in her home and still be with her kids. We have always tried to pay a decent and fair wage. This is still the way we operate and we are still a family business. All this time, I have personally taken care of the business with the help of my kids and Robert kept his full time job. It is amazing it has been good for so long, because before, Being a wife and mom I had no experience, but I feel we were very blessed with a good product that sold itself . |
Our Product:
Many injuries and stress to the wrist in gymnastic and other sports-related activity and in repetitive hand-use jobs can be lessened and often eliminated by the use of RBJ's Lion Paw wrist support brace. The RBJ Lion Paw helps prevent injuries while aiding in the healing of sore and weak wrists. Athletes can wear this brace while working out, taking pressure off the wrist while still allowing for a good range of movement.
We have had positive responses from those who have used the RBJ Lion Paw in their programs such as Wayne Young (formerly of Brigham Young University and a gymnastic Olympic athlete), Greg Marsden (University of Utah Women's Gymnastics coach), Parkettes Gymnastics in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Karolye Gymnastics in Houston, Texas have used the RBJ Lion Paw with success. Jack Rockwell of Olympic fame and Santa Rosa Sports Medicine Center (formerly of the St. Francis Hospital Sports Medicine Center of San Francisco) writes: “The support afforded by the glove is far better than that provided by adhesive strapping as there is no problem with circulation or mobility in the hand.” We are now selling to hand rehabilitation centers and doctors for use with arthritis, tendinitis and carpal tunnel syndrome. Subaru, Isuzu of Indianapolis, Indiana have used the Lion Paw for their line workers. For sports, the Lion Paw is currently being used by athletes in gymnastics, hockey, football, tennis, golf and high diving as well as giving excellent support in handball and other sports. 2016: My mom wrote the above details many years ago. we are still a family owned business , but mom and dad are on the way to their eighties now and decided to retire. They have given the business to me, I have been working with them for thirty years, cutting and sewing, doing invoices, and also shipping. So many Doctors want only the LionPaw, so we hope to be in business for many more years. Sincerely, Cara Boyer, Director and Owner |
